Unit 4 Graded Blog- Giving Credit Where it is Due
Well, I know this is a little late, but I did not realize that this was a graded assignment, and I apologize to all of you, and I was really sorry when I looked into my grade book and saw a big fat zero. So, anyways I chose to go ahead and write about why it is crucial to give an author or authors' credit for their work when writing any kind of paper for both school, and work. If one would forget to cite the proper information in a paper that was written, than someone may mistakenly think that it was their own idea and not someone elses, which means that either the person that wrote the paper and failed to do their full duty of citing, would more than likely be facing some form of punishment, because it is a zero tolerance rule when it comes to plagiarism. What I had a hard time with when I retrieved references from the Library, was some of the really good articles that I found had no recognized author, and left me no choice, than to not use them. However, eventually found some more great articles, and was able to use them, and of course, naturally, it made it much more easier to cite them in my paper so far.

Good reflections, Angela! That is too bad that some excellent sources didn't list authors--weird!
ReplyDeleteyou can use sources, that don't list an author, you usually just put the name of the article, and the year it was published. or something like that, i use that website, www.citationmachine.net it really makes life a lot easier when i plug in the information, and it prints it out for me, so i can add my references to my d/b posts, or to my papers. good luck with your papers.
ReplyDeletegreat tips, Sharon!
